Designed to support the streamlining of lens processing, Gerber
Coburn's
Dimetrix provides automatic finish blocking and lens power inspection in one
devices. Dimetrix utilizes two advanced technologies-Wavefront powerMap®
Technology for lens power analysis and image recognition for extremely
precise lens blocking. When integrated into the lens finishing process,
Dimetrix decreases manual inspection and blocking operations while reducing
skilled labor and rework costs. |
 |
Dimetrix's
technology and design allow labs to easily integrate the
unit into their operations.
Dimetrix guides operators through the process
with simple
instructions. Operators with little-to-no optical
knowledge or
experience can understand and use
the device.
|
|
|
 |
Dimetrix
employs a touch screen or bar code reader for all data
entry. Operators simply type in or scan the job number to retrieve job
information from the host computer. The touch screen has a full
alphanumeric keypad and descriptive labeling to make
data entry and navigation intuitive. Because the data input
mechanism is integrated into the unit, a keyboard or 10-key
keypad is eliminated, freeing up valuable workspace. |
|
|
 |
The
automatic lens loading and alignment feature diminishes manual
processing steps and operator involvement taking the guesswork out of the
operation. Automatic aligning of single vision, multi-focal,
progressive, and coated lenses reduces the need for lens
marking, improves accuracy, and ensures consistency. Lens
handling is also minimized, reducing the potential for
scratches and spoilage.
|
|
|
 |
Dimetrix
provides automatic comparison functions. Using ANSI
standards, Dimetrix analyzes the lens, then indicates whether the lens is in
or out-of-tolerance, providing affirmation that the lenses meet the
prescribed job requirements. Stored
job data can be retrieved and analyzed to improve quality and
reduce breakage. |
|
|
 |
Once
a lens is verified, the integrated blocking device automatically
orients the chuck to the appropriate cylinder axis and decentration,
then applies the block, eliminating standard manual operations.
|
|
|
 |
For
a visual verification of the job data, Dimetrix displays the prism
and line reference points in relation to the block placement.
Multiple display options include: sphere and cylinder maps;
prismatic layout; on-screen frame-to-lens cutout verification. |

Automatic Lens
Analysis
Dimetrix provides the most precise and accurate lens
inspection data prior to blocking. It delivers a full,
quick lens analysis, reading the sphere, cylinder, axis, adds
and prism values.
Direct Job Comparison
Using ANSI standards, Dimetrix compares the actual lens data,
providing a Pass/Fail analysis. Any out-of-tolerance
measurements are highlighted in red. |
