Innovations Remote is a total hardware and software solution that ensures the
timely exchange of patient Rx, lens and accurate frame trace data between
satellite locations and a central laboratory. Consisting of Gerber Coburn's
Envoy Remote Frame Tracer and Innovations Lab Software, it offers all segments
within the ophthalmic lens dispensing chain - ODs, retail outlets and wholesale
laboratories - a reliable way to build efficiency, speed and
quality into the Rx
delivery process. Each remote location must
be equipped with the Envoy and
Innovations Remote; the lab must be
equipped with Innovations Basic or Standard.
Envoy Remote Tracer Component
The Envoy is a cost-effective remote frame tracer
designed for installation in satellite locations. When linked with
Innovations Remote data entry software, it sends digital trace data to
the processing laboratory via modem. The Envoy is fast, accurate, simple to use, and provides unparalleled precision in frame
tracing.
Easy, efficient,
operation
Operators can cycle through the right or left eyewire, or select a
complete trace simply by pushing a button. Once the frame is inserted
in the measuring channel, it is clamped securely in place by an
advanced holding mechanism. The Envoy automatically inserts the stylus
in the eyewire and begins its precise trace. When the first eyewire
trace is complete, the stylus shifts to the second eyewire and repeats
the tracing process. The resulting digital trace data is sent to the
computer, which instantly forwards it to the lab for use in surface
calculation and patternless edging. This minimizes the opportunity for
operator error at the remote location as well as at the lab.
Features
Three-axis control captures three-dimensional shapes by measuring 3,200 points: A and B, as well as frame
curve and elevation. This yields highly accurate sizing and assures trace quality, which increases the quality
of the finished lens and decreases lens breakage. Note: Rimless frame styles
are accommodated by tracing patterns or demo lenses mounted on a simple fixture.
Sequential tracing of both eye wires includes automatic DBL measuring. (Operators may trace only one eye,
if desired.)
Automatic internal calibration assures accurate results with minimal operator effort. |
Exceptionally durable components and a high-performance design increase reliability and decrease
maintenance, important considerations for remote locations.
A small footprint allows the Envoy to be located adjacent to the computer running Innovations Remote order
entry software. |
Simple, intuitive design minimizes training. Users are generally proficient in
the Envoy operation in less than an hour. |
Innovations Remote Features
Windows® 98 controls and graphics make it easy to navigate through the program, reducing training time
and boosting productivity.
Remote locations can opt to activate the modem on a per job basis, or stack jobs in a queue and transmit
hem all at the same time. Similarly, laboratories can set parameters for receiving jobs based on job type. |
Rapid, intelligent order entry allows the operator to enter prescriptions exactly as written. When prescription
data is entered, smart lists display only relevant choices and correct mistakes immediately. This reduces
opportunity for input errors.
Innovations Host Software
Component
Innovations automates prescription lens processing by providing a powerful set of functions designed to manage the process and business
of lens manufacturing. The software is modular and can be custom
configured to suit the specific operational needs and workstation
arrangements of any size laboratory. Designed to run on a single
PC or over a network, Innovations is available in Basic and Standard
versions. Each offers increasingly advanced capabilities, but
all contain the data entry module required for remote tracing
transmissions.
Features
Lens selection, surfacing, and finishing
calculations are performed automatically using a comprehensive database of
lens properties. Preferences such as base curve selection can be easily
and quickly modified to suit each lab's requirements.
Multi-tasking capabilities allow multiple
Innovations tasks to run alongside programs for email, fax, word processing, and
spreadsheets. This maximizes productivity, improving overall lab
efficiency.
Innovations is compatible with most lab
processing systems, allowing for seamless interfacing between Gerber Coburn
and other manufacturers' equipment.
