Gerber Coburn Launches New E-Commerce Website
Company creates a more powerful site.

South Windsor, CT- Gerber Coburn’s North American customers can now enjoy an easier and more convenient online shopping experience when they place parts and supplies orders electronically, thanks to the company’s newly enhanced online shopping site: http://www.gerbercoburn.com.

Relaunched on October 25, 2004, the new site contains a complete inventory of Gerber Coburn supplies, parts, and accessories. Rich with user-friendly features - such as product browsing and search capabilities, order tracking, online customer registration, customer shopping carts, and simple check out - it is designed for easy navigation, error reduction, and time- and cost-savings. And, it is open to anyone wishing to browse Gerber Coburn’s electronic consumables catalog, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, indicated Marc Okrant, group product manager, Gerber Coburn.

“The new site harbors new features and a new name,” he noted, “If customers log on to the old site - shop.gerbercoburn.com - they will be redirected to the new site where they can use their existing names and passwords. Users can also access the new site by going directly to www.gerbercoburn.com, then clicking on the Purchase Parts and Supplies link.”

As described by Okrant, Gerber Coburn’s shopping site is divided into logical product categories according to end use to help customers locate the company’s various product lines quickly. Large color photos, together with detailed descriptions, clearly identify each product and its respective technical specifications. As an added feature, a summary screen displays the items to be purchased and indicates whether the items are in stock, available at a future date, or to call for availability. New email order and shipment confirmation messages and an order tracking mechanism keep customers apprised of the order’s status.

“One of the most useful features of the site is My Cart, which is essentially a personalized catalog,” observed Okrant. “Any number of items, along with preferred ordering quantities, may be added to My Cart. For example, if a customer orders 10 rolls of a particular fining pad, that item can be saved in My Cart. Customers can also save multiple personalized shopping carts. This feature allows users to buy without having to browse through all the products every time he or she goes online. It’s a great time saver.”

“All in all, www.gerbercoburn.com offers just about everything a customer will need to order supplies from Gerber Coburn. Our plan is to roll out the site worldwide to benefit all of our international customers.”
