To celebrate Vision Expo East in New York City, St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and to thank the optical industry for its support of the company’s lens finishing system, Gerber Coburn - in conjunction with Essilor Instruments, a division of Essilor International, Paris - has designed a special promotional giveaway.
As described by Clement Patry, director of North American sales, Gerber Coburn, the Follow the Green to the Gold promotion features scratch and win-type tickets containing two rows of hidden symbols.
The tickets will be mailed to approximately 30,000 pre-registered Vision Expo East attendees prior to the show as part of Reed Exhibition’s AES badge packet, noted Patry. This is to build anticipation in advance of the show’s March 15, 2002 opening date, he said.
“Any number of those tickets might be a winner,” he advised, “however, only one contains the special combination to win the Kappa SP.”
To determine what they have won, recipients must bring their tickets to Gerber Coburn’s booth at Vision Expo East. The booth, # 3022, will showcase the Kappa SP game via a highly visible prize board which winners can check to match their game card symbols to prizes. If no one steps forward to claim the Kappa SP by 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2002, a special drawing, “Second Chance to Win,” will be held at that time to select a Kappa SP winner.
Explained Patry, “Any one with a game ticket, whether or not it is a winner, can write his or her name, practice name and address on the back of the ticket and drop it into a special container marked ‘Kappa SP Drawing’ that will be located in the direct vicinity of the prize board. We will then draw from that box to determine who wins the Kappa SP. [The individual does not need to be present in order to claim the prize, there is no purchase necessary to participate in the giveaway, game cards are available while supplies last, and the game card is void where prohibited. A copy of the game’s official rules can be picked up in Gerber Coburn’s booth at Vision Expo East.]
“We’re very pleased to be sponsoring this exciting giveaway with Essilor Instruments,” he stated. “It provides the perfect opportunity to express our appreciation to customers for making Kappa the industry's most preferred lens finishing system.”
The Kappa SP is a compact, computer-controlled lens finishing system consisting of a tracing and blocking unit and an automatic patternless edger, all of which are fully integrated. It features the latest 4-D technology, delivers the latest patented soft pin beveling and grooving options, and offers unparalleled speed and accuracy.
